Black Isle Studios, the role-playing game division of Interplay Entertainment, has unveiled the Icewind Dale II Collector's Edition, a special edition of its upcoming Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game sequel, Icewind Dale II.
The special edition will include collectible items such as a full-color cloth map of Icewind Dale, a bonus disc containing game enhancements and tracks from the game's soundtrack, a set of collectible trading cards depicting some of the characters and creatures found in the game, and a high-quality spiral-bound manual. In addition, the special edition will contain a set of dice, Black Isle Studios stickers, and a writing tablet. The Icewind Dale II Collector's Edition will come in a hinged book-style box, and it is available for preorder exclusively through the Interplay Entertainment Web site for a retail price of $59.95.
Icewind Dale II will improve on the hack-and-slash gameplay of the original game, and it will include new monsters, spells, items, and areas to explore in the Dungeons & Dragons Forgotten Realms universe. The game takes place a generation after the events depicted in the previous game, and it will let players control a group of characters on a quest to save the town of Targos from a horde of goblins, orcs, and bugbears.
Icewind Dale II is scheduled for release on May 28. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
