How to E3: The New E3 Look and Live Video-September 2024
Sep 16, 2024 4:23 PM

Welcome to GameSpot's new home for E3 2009! As you may have noticed, things are looking quite a bit different this year--we've put a lot of time and effort into better presenting key information and making it easier to see the best content from the biggest gaming event of the year.

  Show Highlights Page

The Highlights page is the centerpiece of E3 2009 on GameSpot, and it's where you'll find most E3-related information, delivered just how you'd like. Above, you'll find four dropdown boxes. These let you filter down to the exact sorts of content you're looking for. Are you interested only in Xbox 360 game coverage? Getting rid of everything else is as easy as clicking the "Platform" dropdown and selecting "Xbox 360." Are you only in the mood to watch videos of the hottest games? All you've got to do is find "Videos" in the "Content Type" dropdown.

Once you've gotten accustomed to filtering to specific types of content, you'll want to take a look at the tabs to the left of the dropdown boxes. Normally, the "Latest Highlights" tab will be selected, which means you're viewing the stories, blogs, videos, and images that we've handpicked as the most important. If you click on the "Recent Updates" tab, you're going to see every story, and the "Most Popular" tab shows you the stories that have garnered the most user interest in the last hour.

Both the tabs and dropdowns work in tandem, so go ahead and play around with both of these navigational options--they'll make it a snap to find what you're looking for.

  Press Conferences

The Microsoft, Nintendo, and Sony press conferences are major attractions every year at E3, and this year we've given them dedicated pages to encourage more focused user discussion. You can set reminders just as you would with our live stage show, and you'll be able to watch them all live starting with Microsoft at 10:30 a.m. PT on Monday, June 1, with the HD archive to follow. On top of the big three, Electronic Arts and Ubisoft are hosting their own press conferences, which we'll also bring you live.

  E3 Live

Our live stage show is always one of the biggest parts of E3, and this year is no exception. We're bringing you over 19 hours of video featuring some of the hottest games of the show, and since it'll be live, you can participate by sending us questions for the developers. Check the show schedule now to see what's coming up. Are you the forgetful sort? Make sure you set a reminder for a handy e-mail before the show begins each day!

  Discuss E3

Check back later in the week for more installments in How to E3, and as always, feel free to leave us your feedback--or just start a conversation--by leaving a comment or chatting with your fellow users in the E3 2009 forum.
