Hoping to tap even more power from its EMU10K1 chip, Creative Labs has announced the Live!Ware program to help provide its Sound Blaster Live! & SB Live! Value customers with the latest enhancements and applications. Those new power toys will be offered through the company's SB Live! site over the course of the next few months, beginning this month.

　　"Live!Ware is a revolutionary marketing program that matches the revolutionary spirit of Sound Blaster Live!," said Sim Wong Hoo, chairman and chief executive officer of Creative Technology Ltd. "Technology doesn't stand still. Neither does Creative or Sound Blaster Live! The capabilities of Sound Blaster Live! will grow with time as Creative unleashes more and more of the untapped power, performance, and functionality inherent in the EMU10K1design. Even with the new major enhancements we are announcing today with Live!Ware, we are only just beginning to scratch the surface!"

　　Some of the enhancements without additional hardware to be delivered include:

　　- push from 8 to 32 accelerated 3D voices, each supporting up to 16bit, 48KHz fidelity audio- musicians can use 512 PCI voice synthesis (up from the board's current 256 voices) for high-end music composition - home theater audiophiles will be able to add surround sound technology to their home stereo systems although users can already enjoy surround sound when using the Cambridge SoundWorks' FourPointSurround or Desktop Theater 5.1 speaker systems- Creative will release over 500 SoundFont banks consisting of over 2,500 instruments- users will also get the Vienna SoundFont Studio, a PC sampling and editing suite, where musicians will be able to produce high-quality-sounding music
