Horizon Zero Dawn Dev Hires Talent From Rainbow Six Siege Studio
Horizon Zero Dawn Dev Hires Talent From Rainbow Six Siege Studio-November 2024
Nov 15, 2024 11:51 AM

Guerrilla Games appears to be staffing up for a new project, and we may have some idea of its direction from the talent it's been acquiring. The studio has brought on some of the leads behind Rainbow Six Siege, which could suggest it's eyeing multiplayer for its next game.

Push Square reports that Guerrilla hired Simon Larouche in February, the game director behind Siege and a Guerrilla veteran from his work on Killzone 2. Chris Lee, who served as an online and multiplayer designer for Siege, has also been brought on by Guerrilla as a principal game designer.

Now Playing: How To Unlock Aloy's Armor And Bow In Monster Hunter World

Guerrilla had been known mostly for its work on the Killzone franchise before Horizon Zero Dawn. Killzone aligns pretty neatly with the talent from Siege, if the studio is working on a new installment. It may be that the studio is bringing back Killzone, that the next Horizon game will have multiplayer, or something else entirely.

Horizon was a bona fide hit for Sony and Guerrilla, and was followed up by The Frozen Wilds DLC expansion last year. The breakout star of the game, Aloy, received an homage from Capcom in the form of Monster Hunter World DLC. Meanwhile the studio is partnering with Hideo Kojima for use of the Horizon engine in Death Stranding.

In July, Guerrilla art director Jan Bart van Beek tweeted the studio is moving, with an attached article noting that the larger studio space will allow it to expand to a large pool of permanent employees. It seems the studio has big plans.
