Holiday-Themed Witcher 3 Mod Contest Announced, Winner Gets Real Sword
Holiday-Themed Witcher 3 Mod Contest Announced, Winner Gets Real Sword-October 2024
Oct 26, 2024 10:21 PM

CD Projekt Red has launched a new, holiday-themed contest for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, with a grand prize of a real-life, epic-looking sword.

Via Game Informer, here's how it works.

Make an outfit or holiday element for any character in The Witcher 3 (see the image above for inspiration) and upload it to Nexus Mods with a "Witcher Mod Contest" tag. Make sure the mod is available under "file admin" and then contact CD Projekt Red using this form with a link to your mod.

CD Projekt Red will review the submissions and name one winner. This person will take home the Witcher sword you see below, which is based on one of the blades seen in the game.

The contest is open people around the world, but you need to be 18. In addition, CD Projekt Red, based on Poland, recommends that you check with your country's rules about shipping sharp objects.

Submissions close for this content on January 5. The full contest rules and regulations are available here.

The Witcher 3 was released in May this year behind rave reviews, including a 10/10 from GameSpot. Just recently, the RPG took home the overall Game of the Year award at The Game Awards, while CD Projekt Red won Developer of the Year. As of August, The Witcher 3 had sold 6 million copies.

Next up for the game is its Blood and Wine expansion, which launches in 2016. The first images for this expansion were released last week, showing off the colorful world of Toussaint.
