Game designer Hideo Kojima, known for franchises like Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding and also his love of cinema, has seen The Batman and now has shared his thoughts on the film.
Kojima, who says in his Twitter bio that 70% of his body is made of movies, shared his thoughts on a few scene in the film and why they impressed him so much. Kojima started off by commenting on Twitter about the scene in which Robert Pattinson has his shirt off.
"Robert's own presence and acting ability are excellent, but the director has a good way of showing it. The scene in which he pushes a heavy object indoors with his upper body naked," he said. "Here, he gives the impression of flexible back muscles like a ballet dancer, not hard muscles from muscle training and protein soaking."
Kojima added: "Usually, they show his muscles during training scenes, or the naked during shower scenes or when healing wounds in the washroom (like stitching scenes)."
Kojima also enjoyed the breakfast scene, and specifically how Pattinson is wearing sunglasses despite the indoor setting. "Also, the breakfast scene with Alfredo [sic]. He looks dazzled and makes him wear sunglasses even though he is indoors," he said.
"Normally, they would show him wearing sunglasses while driving a convertible car during the daytime," Kojima added. He went on to wonder if this was a purposeful choice to hearken back to one of Pattinson's first major movies, Twilight. "But in Gotham City this time, it is dark even during the daytime, so it is not necessary. Or is it a homage to Twilight in which he is dazzling because he is a vampire?" he said.
The Batman is still doing big business at the box office. It earned another $66 million in the US during its second weekend to bring its total to $238.5 million in the US and $463.2 million worldwide.
As for Kojima, his studio doesn't have any new games announced, but is rumored to be working with Xbox on a new title. As for The Batman, it seems likely it'll get a sequel, while WB is producing a spinoff TV series starring Colin Ferrell as The Penguin.
