Here's How Much 30-Second Super Bowl Ads Cost This Year-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 9:18 PM

Super Bowl LVII is coming up this Sunday, February 12, and as usual, companies that are seeking to run advertisements during the big game are paying top dollar. But just how much does it cost this year for a 30-second ad? The average price of a 30-second ad this year on Fox's broadcast was between $6 million and $7 million, Fox ad sales boss Mark Evans told Deadline.

Some ads reached more than $7 million, but the average was a bit lower. Fox officially sold through its entire ad inventory for the big game on the week of January 23.

The Super Bowl is historically one of the most-watched TV events of the year in the US, which explains the super-sized ad fees.

In September, Fox said it sold 95% of its spots for the Super Bowl, but the remaining bunch took a little longer to come through due to "economic conditions" like rising inflation, Deadline said.

Evans did not say how many total ads will be shown during the Super Bowl, but it should be similar to past years. Viewers can expect ads for beer, movies, streaming services, and all manner of other products and services. One of the ads brings back Walter White and Jesse Pinkman from Breaking Bad to promote Popcorners.

The Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles for the title on Sunday, February 12, with kickoff slated for 6:30 PM ET on Fox. Due to the Super Bowl, HBO is moving up the release of the next Last of Us episode to this Friday, February 10.
