Sega of America has today announced that it will show Headhunter: Redemption for the first time at next month's Electronic Entertainment Expo in LA. The game will once again see players assuming the role of veteran headhunter Jack Wade, and it is set some 20 years after the events of the original Headhunter.

　　In Redemption, Wade will have to work alongside his sassy protégé, Leeza X, to save their futuristic world from catastrophe after they stumble upon an arms-smuggling operation. The world itself sounds a little reminiscent of that depicted in the movie Demolition Man, with the glittering metropolis of glass and steel towers of "Above" sitting atop a subterranean colony known as "Below," which is home to criminals, undesirables, and misfits.

　　"Headhunter: Redemption delivers a blockbuster twist on the stealth-action genre," said Mike Fischer, vice president of marketing, Sega of America. "Blending a twisting plot reminiscent of Hollywood thrillers and cinematic production values with frenetic third-person combat, turbo-charged driving, and strategic stealth scenarios, Headhunter: Redemption is definitely a glimpse at the darker side of Sega."

　　Although Headhunter: Redemption has not yet been approved by Sony Computer Entertainment America, the game is currently scheduled for release toward the end of this year in both North America and Europe. We'll bring you more information on the game when we report live from E3 next month.
