Hasbro Files Against GT Interactive
Hasbro Files Against GT Interactive-January 2024
Jan 14, 2025 5:23 PM

Hasbro Interactive announced on Monday that it, along with its subsidiary Atari Interactive, has filed suit to protect copyrights of several of its video games. GT Interactive, eGames, Xtreme Games, MVP Software, Webfoot Technologies, and Varcon Systems are said to have copied games for which Hasbro Interactive owns exclusive copyrights. Among the titles in question are such games as TetriMania and Mac-Man, which are according to Hasbro blatant copies of Tetris and Pac-Man. "Hasbro Interactive has the best brands and content in this business, and we will vigorously protect what is rightfully ours," said Hasbro Interactive president Tom Dusenberry. "Consumers should be aware that the companies named in this suit are making games based on properties they don't own or control."

Other titles mentioned in the suit are Intergalactic Exterminator, 3D Astro Blaster, TetriMania Master, 3D Maze Man, Tunnel Blaster, UnderWorld, XTRIS, Patriot Command, HemiRoids, Bricklayer, 3D TetriMadness, 3D Munch Man, and 3D Munch Man II.

"Content is Hasbro's core business, and other companies don't have the right to profit from the success of our intellectual properties and our ability to make them successful," said Hasbro General Counsel Barry Nagler. "We're committed to protecting our brands and licenses to the full extent of the law."
