Electronic Arts has announced that Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, its adventure game based on the J.K. Rowling fantasy novel of the same name, has shipped to stores. The game will be available in stores on November 16, the same day that the Warner Bros. feature film based on the book will be released in theaters.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone lets players assume the role of Harry Potter, a young wizard enrolling in the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft. Harry can explore the halls of the school, study to be a wizard, learn to fly a broomstick and brew potions, and interact with other characters from the book. The game includes a variety of puzzles and adventures, as well as an arcade-style Quidditch sports game.
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone was developed by KnowWonder, a studio of Seattle-based Amaze Entertainment, and it will be available on November 16 for an approximate retail price of $29.99. For more information, take a look at our previous coverage of the game.
