Halo Infinite Battle Pass And XP Progression Patch Out Now, Bigger Changes Coming Later-January 2024
Jan 4, 2025 10:23 PM

Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries is making major changes to the game's battle pass progression system in the wake of a wave of negative feedback about it. The changes outlined on Wednesday evening are now live in the game, and 343 says this is only an "initial step."

"More robust updates are going to take time," 343's Brian Jarrard said. "We greatly appreciate all the support and please keep the feedback coming."

A rundown of the changes follows below, as written by 343.

Halo Infinite players can now earn XP by completing matchmade games. The "Play 1 Game" Daily Challenge is worth 50 XP each. The Challenge deck is also being updated to better serve players of all skill levels. The Halo Infinite team has also resolved issues with the following Challenges which were causing progress to not be tracked: Heat of the Moment, It Bears Repeating, Jorge Would Be Proud, and Ultra TechAdditionally, XP Boosts will now last for 1 hour rather than 30 minutes. The in-game tooltip may continue to show 30 minutes as their expected duration, but the Boost's timer will start from 60 minutes once activatedAs a result of these changes, all progress on active Daily and Weekly Challenges will need to be reset, however, all players who sign-in between November 23-30 will receive this week's Ultimate Reward: the Sigil Mark VII Visor.Challenge and boost adjustments are now live in #HaloInfinite. This is an initial step to help address some key feedback, more robust updates are going to take time. We greatly appreciate all the support and please keep the feedback coming! https://t.co/A9OdjzAtN3
