Developer Valve gave PC gamers a treat today, releasing a demo for its acclaimed PC shooter, Half-Life 2. The demo, which requires a Steam account to install, is now available on GameSpot DLX.
Weighing in at a hefty 769MB, the Half-Life 2 demo "takes players through some of the early levels of the game and later transports them to the area of the game known as Ravenholm," according to a description on the official Half-Life 2 Web site. The site also said the demo will contain some of the "digital actors" from the game, although it made no mention of specific characters.
GameSpot's review of Half-Life 2 has more information on the full game, which is a finalist for our Best PC Game and Best Shooter of 2004.
