Tecmo celebrated the sale of 500,000 copies of its PlayStation title Monster Farm (aka Monster Rancher in the US) Wednesday in Japan. The game was released last week in the US, where it's enjoying brisk sales, having sold out at local retailers in the Lombard, Ill., area.
There are even a few web sites dedicated to the game, where you generate monsters using your favorite music or data CDs. The sites include lists of CDs that result in rare monsters, and answer frequently asked questions about the game.
If you like virtual pets and have a lot of CDs in your collection, you'll want to check out VideoGameSpot's preview of the game.
