Cross platform play is still not a thing for games available on consoles as well as on PC, but things have been moving in recent times to offer the chance to players to enjoy titles online together with those playing on other formats. Yesterday, Psyonix confirmed that cross platform play for their popular Rocket League is ready, and only requires Sony's approval, and a few hours ago, another developer confirmed that one of their next title might feature cross platform play on all formats.

　　Speaking to IGN, CD Projekt Red Marcin Iwiński revealed that the team would like to have cross platform play for the upcoming Gwent The Witcher Card Game. He mentioned that the team also has a technical solution in place for PS4 and all they need is a green light from Sony, pretty much the same situation as Rocket League.

　　Our upcoming Gwent: The Witcher Card Game will launch in closed beta for PC and Xbox One later this year, and Microsoft already confirmed Gwent's cross-play feature not only between Xbox One and PC, but also other consoles if they allow it. We also do have a technical solution in place for PS4 and would love to add Sony’s platform to cross-play at the start of open beta. All we need is a green light from Sony."

　　During E3 2016, CDPR was able to show Gwent The Witcher Card Game to the public, also revealing some additional details on free to play mechanics and more. The game's lead designer Damien Monnier revealed that the team doesn't want to give any sort of advantage to those who spend real money, and the game won't push players to spend money at any time.

　　Gwent: The Witcher Card Game launches on a yet to be confirmed date on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. A closed beta will be held soon on PC and Xbox One, the PS4 beta launching sometime after.
