Guillermo del Toro's Delayed Horror Movie Antlers Gets New Release Date
Guillermo del Toro's Delayed Horror Movie Antlers Gets New Release Date-October 2024
Oct 19, 2024 5:20 PM

Horror fans found themselves a little disappointed this summer when the new Guillermo del Toro produced movie, Antlers, was delayed indefinitely thanks to the global coronavirus pandemic. Originally scheduled for release in April, the movie was bumped off of schedules and left in limbo--at least, thankfully, until now.

The wait isn't over--Antlers will, unfortunately, not be heading to VOD or streaming anytime soon. But it will be aiming for theatrical release on February 19, 2021.

Based on the short story "The Quiet Boy" by Channel Zero showrunner Nick Antosca, Antlers is the story of a school teacher in a small town in Oregon played by Keri Russell. She begins to have concerns about one of her students, a boy named Lucas Weaver, and suspects he may be the victim of abuse at home. The truth of Lucas's situation, however, turns out to be more horrifying than she could have imagined--Lucas is keeping a "wendigo-like" creature in his house.

If you're eager for a taste of what Antlers has in store, the short story is available to be read online for free.

Antlers will also have a Comic Con@Home panel on Friday, July 25, at 1PM PT / 4PM ET, featuring director Scott Cooper and Guillermo del Toro where they will discuss bringing the monster to life.
