Oct 28, 2024 2:36 AM

Guillemot announced Tuesday a new partnership with 3D chip designer nVidia to produce three new 2D/3D graphics boards, all using chips provided by nVidia.

The Maxi Gamer Phoenix 2 will feature the new Riva TNT Vanta, with 8MB of 125MHz SDRAM and an AGP 4X/2X interface at the friendly cost of only $70. The Maxi Gamer Xentor will feature nVidia's Riva TNT2 with 16MB of 166MHz SDRAM and a 300 MHz RAMDAC and will include XingDVD video playback at a retail price of about $130. The heavy-duty Maxi Gamer Xentor 32 will also feature the TNT2 but will feature 32MB of 183 MHz SDRAM, AGP 4X support, a 24-bit Z-buffer, and TV-out capability, for $200.

"Guillemot will offer a full range of 2D/3D graphics accelerators for both retail and OEM markets. Building on the success of the award-winning Maxi Gamer line, Guillemot will once again take the 3D graphics industry to a new level," said Claude Guillemot, president of Guillemot Corporation. "The introduction of this series represents Guillemot's assertion as a technological leader in the industry."

All three boards are expected to ship in mid-April.
