GT Interactive's chairman and CEO Thomas A. Heymann announced that Walter J. Parks would be joining the company as chief financial officer and senior vice president of finance. The position was formerly held by Andrew Gregor, who will stay on with GT as a consultant until GT relocates to Los Angeles. This is Heymann's second senior-level addition to the GT Interactive team since appointing John T. Baker IV as GT's president and COO this April.
Parks' former position was as CFO and treasurer for women's clothier Ann Taylor Stores Corporation. And like Heymann's former success at Disney, Parks helped build Ann Taylor from a US$250 million company into a $900 million powerhouse with 365 outlets.
Before Ann Taylor, Parks worked on accounting and financial reporting for North American Phillips Corporation, Grollier Inc., and General Data Communications Industries.
At GT, Parks will take hold of GT's worldwide finance and accounting functions and will report directly to Baker.
