Grand Theft Auto V has overtaken Call of Duty: Black Ops to post the biggest day-one sales for a video game in the UK and become the fastest-selling game in the region.
Data from GfK Chart Track, reported by MCV, shows that GTAV sold 1.57 million copies in the UK in its first day on sale, raking in over £65M (approximately $104M) in revenue.
Rockstar's latest dethrones Call of Duty: Black Ops, the previous record holder, which sold 1.41M copies in its first 24 hours when it first went on sale in 2010, bringing in £58m.
Grand Theft Auto V launched worldwide yesterday for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
