It appears that part of the physical edition of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch needs to be downloaded separately.
As reported by VGC, the Switch version of GTA: The Trilogy has appeared on the US Target website, along with new details and what looks to be the official box art featuring the three games included in the Definitive Edition--Grand Theft Auto III, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

The box also has a disclaimer that reads, "download required – see back," and although the back of the case isn't actually shown, the Nintendo eShop says that 22GB of space is required to download the trilogy.
On the eShop, The Definitive Edition appears as a bundle containing the three GTA games as separate products, each with a "not available to purchase" alone notice. However, it seems that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will need a separate download, both when bought physically and digitally.
According to the eShop, Grand Theft Auto III is 2.2GB and Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas is 10.8GB, but Grand Theft Auto: Vice City appears to be only 119MB. As VGC spotted, Vice City's eShop page reads, "The estimated system space that will be required to download this game is 6.5GB.”
It's unclear at this time why Vice City requires a separate download, and Rockstar Games has yet to comment.
Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy - The Definitive Edition is set to launch on November 11 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. The collection will feature enhanced graphics, performance improvements, as well as GTA V-style gameplay and camera tracking.
