Known journalist Jeff Grubb has said that he believes that Metroid Prime 2 Remastered for the Nintendo Switch is coming relatively soon.

　　That's what Grubb said during the most recent 'Last of the Nintendogs' podcast together with Gamesbeat's Mike Minotti. In this episode, the duo talked about the quietness surrounding the Switch successor and whether this is actually the 'calm before the storm'. At around 12 minutes in the podcast, Grubb somewhat laughingly says that Metroid Prime 2 Remastered is coming out relatively "soonish". In addition, he said that something Zelda-related is happening somewhere later this year.

　　"Metroid Prime 2 Remastered probably is coming out relatively soonish", Grubb said. "That is happening". The journalist continued talking about something not related to Tears of the Kingdom, although Grubb is kinda reluctant to share it due to some claims he made in the past.

　　"The next phrase is, I'm afraid to say, I might not actually say it", he said. "Listen I don't know what it means. I'm gonna tell you what they told me, and if you take this and you spin it in something else, it's on you.

　　Grubb continued, "Something not related to Tears of the Kingdom is happening with Zelda later this year. That's what I was told."

　　As expected, Grubb was then asked by Minotti whether this is related to the long-rumored Wind Waker and Twilight Princess ports, but Grubb stayed away from directly answering that question this time around.

　　As most of you will know, for some years there have been rumors about Nintendo planning to release both The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and Twilight Princess for the Nintendo Switch. Most of us expected the ports to be announced back in 2021 as part of Zelda's 35th anniversary, but unfortunately, these fan favorites weren't announced at all. Still, various sources remained confident that both titles would be arriving on the Switch at some point, including VGC's Andy Robinson. Last year, Grubb claimed that a 'Zelda Blowout' Nintendo Direct would air, but again, the ports weren't announced. As expected, Grubb received a lot of community backlash, and you can imagine him now being somewhat, careful, in his wording this time around.

　　Whether we will indeed be seeing Metroid Prime 2: Echoes on the Switch "soon" remains to be seen, but with Nintendo shadow-dropping a remaster of the original Metroid Prime for the Switch last year, a remaster of its sequel (and possibly Metroid Prime 3 as well) isn't ruled out.
