Granblue Fantasy Versus, the fighting game currently in development by Arc System Works, is going to feature a full-on RPG mode.
Publisher XSEED confirmed that the Granblue Fantasy Versus RPG mode will allow players to experience the game as an action RPG complete with an original story, beautiful cutscenes, and massive boss battles.
The “RPG Mode” allows players to experience the game as an action RPG, with an original Granblue Fantasy: Versus storyline replete with beautiful cutscenes and boss battles against giant Primal Beasts.
A training mode has also been confirmed, allowing players to better learn the game mechanics without taking part in real matches.
We had the chance to try out the game at this year's E3. It retains some elements from other fighting games by Arc System Works, but everything feels way more accessible.
For the rest, the game looked great as much as it played great, with the cel-shaded style allowing developers to detail character models to an extremely high degree. With an eye-catching presentation and an accessible fighting system, Granblue Fantasy: Versus will surely be able to attract a rabid fanbase once it launches later this year on PlayStation 4.
Granblue Fantasy Versus launches on a yet to be confirmed release date on PlayStation 4.
