Paramount+ has unveiled the first teaser for Good Burger 2, the sequel to the 1997 cult classic Nickelodeon film Good Burger. Slated for release on Paramount+ this fall, the sequel follows Dexter Reed (Kenan Thompson) and Ed (Kel Mitchell) as they reunite in the present day at the fast-food joint, Good Burger, with a new group of employees.
If those plot details sound a bit light, that's because that's pretty much all this new teaser reveals about the movie. The teaser shows Ed hitting Dexter with a burger-shaped car and features the iconic "I'm a dude, you're a dude, he's a dude, we're all dudes" song. The boys are back, and the burgers are good. What more do you really need to know about a Good Burger 2 other than it's actually happening, anyway?
The film's cast includes Lil Rel Howery, Jillian Bell, Kamaia Fairburn, and returning original cast members Josh Server, Lori Beth Denberg, and Carmen Electra. Additional celebrity cameos will be announced later.
Good Burger began as a sketch on Nickelodeon's series All That. Its popularity spawned the 1997 film adaptation, which developed a dedicated following. The impact it had on '90s kids was so enduring that Mitchell and Thompson reunited for a Good Burger sketch on The Tonight Show in 2015. Mitchell also reprised his role as Ed in the 2019 revival of All That.
The sequel was announced in March, with Nickelodeon Studios producing. Writers and executive producers include Kevin Kopelow and Heath Seifert, who co-wrote the original film and worked on All That, alongside James III. Phil Traill serves as the director. Both Thompson and Mitchell are producers, while John Ryan Jr. of Artists for Artists is an executive producer. Nickelodeon Studios' production is overseen by Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin.
