This weekend, owners of EA Sports' Tiger Woods 99 PGA Tour will be able to compete against four present-day golfing greats, including Tiger Woods and Mark O'Meara in the company's Play Against the Pros tournament. The first event starts this Thursday, February 3, and extends until February 6, when gamers can compete against PGA golfers attending that weekend's AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am.
"Today's couch potato becomes tomorrow's couch competitor," said Larry Probst, CEO of Electronic Arts. "More than 50,000 rounds of cyber golf are played each month on easports.com. Play Against The Pros technology is changing the way golf is delivered to the consumer - altering the definition of entertainment and erasing the line between player and spectator."
To compete, owners of Tiger Woods 99 with the Monterey courses add-on need only log on to easports.com this Thursday for complete registration details. Prizes include a Buick Regal GS and an all-expense-paid trip to a PGA tour event. For more information, visit EA Sports.
