The James Bond license is a lucrative one to hold for video game developers, but no matter what game spawns out of that collaboration, the end result nearly always ends up being compared to one of the most important titles in gaming history: Goldeneye 007 for the Nintendo 64. EA has attempted to re-create the classic title several times and now it's Activision's turn, appearing to re-create as much of the original Goldeneye 007 as is legally possible.

　　Although there's been no official release date set for the reboot, the megapublisher announced overnight that it would be releasing a hardware bundle of the new Goldeneye 007, which comes with a limited edition gold-colored Classic Controller Pro. The bundle will be available at launch for A$119.95 ($107), while the software-only edition of the game will be going for A$89.95 ($80).

　　Giving away a controller that's any color other than gold would have been a bit silly, right?

　　Goldeneye 007 debuted at the 2010 Electronic Entertainment Expo during the Nintendo press conference to the cheers of adoring fans. The game is being developed by Eurocom, and despite trying to mimic the Goldeneye 007 experience as closely as possible, the new game contains several noticeable differences, such as Daniel Craig replacing Pierce Brosnan as the main character, as well as tweaks to level design and the addition of new weapons.
