Defying what seems to be conventional wisdom, Mpath Interactive has announced that it's taking the Mplayer online gaming network to Asia.
Mpath has formed a strategic partnership with LG Internet Inc. and has launched a version of its Mpath service in Korea.
As part of the agreement, LG InterNet's Channel i division will host, operate, and provide content for Mplayer Korea. LG InterNet has licensed Mpath's systems and technology for online game matchmaking, voice and text chat, pagers, shared whiteboards, the company's user-interface for online games, and technology to support high-speed low-latency gameplay.
Mpath said it expects to announce partnerships with companies in other parts of the world market over the next year.
