The Reunion quest in Helheim is one of the main story missions in God of War Ragnarok, and it features some challenging door puzzles. As you progress in this area, you will find several gates that won’t remain open unless you freeze their mechanism with the help of Sigil Arrows and your Leviathan Axe. The Reunion quest has four door puzzles, and their difficulty increases with each.

　　You must analyze their gears carefully if you wish to keep the doors open and proceed with the mission. Your companion will also give you precious tips if you get stuck with one or more puzzles. How to solve the Helheim gate puzzles in God of War Ragnarok

In the Reunion quest, Kratos and Atreus are looking for a way to stop Garm. Along the path, they will find four different doors that won’t remain open unless Sigil Arrows and Frost are used. No alternative routes can be followed, and the whole path is pretty straightforward, so the only chance to complete the mission is by solving the gate puzzles.

　　This can be achieved by linking Sigils and throwing the Axe at them to transfer Frost. This way, you will freeze objects nearby, including the gears that block the gate for each door. To fire a Sigil Arrow toward a specific point, you need to aim with L2 and then shoot it by pressing the Square button. To activate the Frost effect, throw your Leviathan Axe at the Sigil and wait until the gear freezes. You can shoot the same Sigil twice to amplify its impact and extend its range, making it easier to chain it with the other Sigils and solve the door puzzles. This can also be done with puzzles that involve your Blades of Chaos, as seen with the River Sigil puzzle in Vanaheim.

　　With each Helheim gate puzzle, you must first interact with the wheel to open the door. Then, use the Sigil Arrows and your Leviathan Axe to freeze the gears. Helheim door puzzle #1

The first puzzle is the easiest to solve. You need to interact with the wheel, raise the gate and place the Sigil exactly where you see in the screenshot. Hit the center of the Sigil two times to fully expand it, and then throw your Leviathan Axe at it to freeze the gear. You can now leave the wheel and go through the open door.

When you find the second gear door puzzle, you need to interact with the wheel on the left of the path and open the gate. Then, fire a Sigil Arrow at the exact point you see in the screenshot and expand it by hitting it twice. Then, use your Axe to freeze the gear.

The third door puzzle in Helheim is no different from the first two. You must interact with the wheel on the left to open the gate and then shoot a Sigil Arrow, as shown in the screenshot. Fire two other Sigil Arrows on it to further expand its area. Use your Leviathan Axe by throwing it at the Sigil, and then go through the open gate.

　　

Helheim door puzzle #4

The final door puzzle in Helheim can give you some problems, as it is more challenging than the others. You must interact with the wheel on the right, below the main path, and open only half of the gate. Shoot the first Sigil Arrow on the portion of the gear you can reach, and then open the other half of the door. Place the second Sigil on the other extremity of the gear that can now be hit by arrows, and throw your Axe at it. This way, the gate will remain open, and you will finally be able to walk through it.
