No, I'm not talking about the Stanley Cup. I'm talking soccer. Or football, or whatever it is you call the beautiful game where you're from. In celebration of the upcoming World Cup festivities, we're holding our own World Cup competition LIVE this Wednesday at noon PDT as the GameSpot US team takes on the GS UK crew (Guy and Phil) in games of 2006 FIFA World Cup for Xbox 360. Even if you're not a soccer fan, you'll want to tune in to the live broadcast, if for no other reason than to watch Rich and Jeff do their best to try and call simultaneous footy games.

　　From my perspective, I'll be relying on Justin Calvert pretty heavily in the match. He may be a Brit, but he's our Brit and, as far as I'm concerned, he's our best chance for victory on Wednesday. Other keys to the game to look out for:

　　1) Look for me to get some vicious tackles in early and often--sending a message to the Rooneys and Beckhams of the world that I am not to be trifled with. I may not have the highest score when it's all said and done, but I'll do my best to have the most yellow cards.

　　2) Listen closely for swearing from Justin, especially if he gets behind early. There's simply nothing like some vicious curse words being spoken with a graceful English accent.

　　3) Phil and Guy have been practicing like mad, as not only the pride of the UK is on the line, but their jobs as well. Okay not really. But yeah.

　　4) Jeff, in preparation for his roll as color commentator for Wednesday's match, has been living on a diet of nothing but bangers and mash for the past week-and-a-half. Asked how he's handled such traditional British faire, Gerstmann replied, "Bangers I love, but there is such a thing as too much mash."
