Game Ready Driver 536.99 Is Optimized for Baldur’s Gate 3, Gord, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre-October 2024
Oct 20, 2024 1:53 AM

NVIDIA released a new Game Ready driver for its GeForce graphics cards. Version 536.99 is optimized for Baldur's Gate 3, the game that's dominating the conversation on PC thanks to its continuous record-breaking performance (as well as critical acclaim).

Baldur's Gate 3 offers support for both DLSS 2 (Super Resolution) and DLAA. According to NVIDIA, GeForce RTX 40 Series GPUs can improve their performance by up to 93% on average with DLSS.

The RTX 4060Ti sees an even bigger jump of nearly 120% (from 35.5 FPS to 77.9 FPS) at 4K resolution, max settings, and DLSS Performance. The improvement percentage shrinks ever slightly going upward: the RTX 4070 sees a 106% performance boost, leaping from 62.9 FPS to nearly 130 FPS; the RTX 4080 runs 100% faster (from 96.4 FPS to 193.4 FPS); and the RTX 4090 actually 'only' gains 43.7% faster frame rate, though that's enough to get it to nearly 215 FPS. With the top-end GPU, you might be better off using DLAA instead.

This GeForce Game Ready driver is also optimized for two games due to be released next week. The first one is Gord, a single player dark fantasy adventure/strategy game created by a few former CD Projekt RED developers. Gord is out on August 17th (priced at €34.99) and supports NVIDIA DLSS 2.

The second game is The Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Due to be released on August 18th for €35.09, it's an asymmetrical multiplayer horror game based on the famous franchise and developed by Sumo Digital. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre also supports DLSS 2.

NVIDIA confirmed two other games with DLSS 2 support: Deadlink, a cyberpunk first-person shooter with roguelite elements out now on Steam, and SPRAWL, a retro-hardcore first-person shooter. SPRAWL will be released later this month on Steam and also supports DLAA.

As usual with any GeForce Game Ready driver releases, the official changelog offers an overview of the fixed bugs.
