With James Gunn and Peter Safran rebooting the DCU, it was unclear if anyone from the previous projects would be included in this go around. Well, Gal Gadot thinks her Wonder Woman has a place in the new DCU after all. The actor has said in a recent interview that she's going to work on another Wonder Woman project with DC Studios chiefs James Gunn and Peter Safran.
"I love portraying Wonder Woman," Gadot told Comicbook.com. "It's so close to and dear to my heart. From what I heard from James and from Peter is that we're gonna develop a Wonder Woman 3 together."
Back in December 2022, it was announced that a third Wonder Woman movie by director Patty Jenkins would no longer be moving forward, as it didn't mesh with what DC Studios CEOs Gunn and Safran had planned out. Jenkins and Gadot had previously worked famously together on 2017's box office hit Wonder Woman and 2020's less-than-stellar Wonder Woman 1984.
We don't have official word yet from Gunn or Safran about any direct Wonder Woman plans in the first chapter of the DCU slate, "Gods and Monsters," but a Max TV series titled Paradise Lost is in development that will focus on "a Game of Thrones-type story about Themyscira."
Gadot had recent cameos in DC's last two entries, Shazam! Fury of the Gods and The Flash. The new era of DC movies is set to launch with Superman: Legacy in 2025, featuring David Corenswet taking on the mantle of Superman/Clark Kent. However, the animated show Creature Commandos will arrive first on Max.
