For fans of cult-classic horror movies and special dates that only come once every few years, 2023 has a treat in store for you. Friday the 13th is getting a limited-edition steelbook edition, one that is loaded with extra content that chronicles the making of a film that would spawn a killer film franchise. Available from October 10--and not on the actual Friday the 13th, weirdly-- this special edition of Friday the 13th is now available for preorder at Amazon. It comes with 4K Blu-ray, standard Blu-ray, and digital versions of the classic horror flick.

　　Friday the 13th Steelbook EditionThis is the Uncut Deluxe Edition of the classic 1980 film, which comes with unrated footage and several documentaries that dives deep into Camp Crystal Lake and the legacy of Jason Voorhees. It also comes in a limited-edition slipcase and steelbook.

　　In case you never saw it, Friday the 13th basically helped popularize a new genre of horror movies, paving the way for countless imitators and rivals. Jason--or his mom--walked so that other slashers could run--and murder attractive teenagers who tripped on an exposed tree root. Set in Camp Crystal Lake, the original film follows a group of camp counselors who all fall victim to a local curse, as they're slowly picked off one by one by a malevolent force in the shadows.

　　Friday the 13th isn't the only beloved slasher movie getting a new release this October. The original Scream trilogy will be released in a 4K Blu-ray set on October 3, and you can also preorder a steelbook version of Scream 3 that arrives the same day.
