Fox Driving Toward the Goal
Fox Driving Toward the Goal-October 2024
Oct 21, 2024 4:59 PM

Fox Sports Interactive intends to be a contender in the console sports market. To that end, it has signed deals with Canadian developer Radical Entertainment to produce professional hockey and basketball games. Fox has signed up the teams who developed Sega's World Series Baseball games and NFL 95, 96, and 98 for the Genesis.

Specific launch dates for the various new Fox Sports games have not been announced, but it's a safe assumption that the games will come out right around the time that the various seasons start - fall for football, spring for baseball, and so on.

Many will remember that Radical Entertainment has had a rough time of late, what with its lost ESPN license and layoffs. (For more on those stories, click on the links to the right.)

Gamers can hope, however, that Radical has finally landed the right partnership and that Fox's avowed commitment to bring out excellent sports games will provide Radical, along with the other development teams, the support to develop really good games.
