Founding Ouya team member Muffi Ghadiali, who is described as being instrumental in helping bring the Android-powered console to market, has left the company. The news was confirmed to TechCrunch. At Ouya, he led the teams responsible for the industrial design of the unit, firmware development, and mechanical, electrical, and RF engineering tasks.

　　"Ouya is focusing more on the next phase of the business and product development. We've made some recent changes including the departure of Muffi Ghadiali who was invaluable during the launch of Ouya," a company representative said. "As is to be expected, Ouya is an ever-changing business, and as we continue to grow our needs shift accordingly."

　　The Android-powered Ouya microconsole began its life on Kickstarter, where it became one of the most successful campaigns of 2013 with over $8.6 million raised. The console saw its commercial release in June 2013, though it's unclear how many units have been sold to date.

　　A "well-placed" source told TechCrunch that Ghadiali was not forced out of Ouya, but rather left by his own volition.
