Fortnite Boss Shows Up In Avengers: Endgame's Re-Released Footage-November 2024
Nov 19, 2024 6:08 PM

This past weekend, Marvel brought Avengers: Endgame back to theatres with a small amount of new bonus footage tacked on the end. As it turns out, that footage includes a brief moment in which Epic Games boss Donald Mustard appears. Mustard is worldwide creative director at the Fortnite studio, which has previously partnered with Marvel for an Avengers: Infinity War event in Fortnite: Battle Royale, as well as the release of Avengers-themed skins around the debut of Endgame. Coinciding with the latter movie's re-release, Mustard revealed on Twitter that he appears in the new footage for 3.2 seconds as a pony-tailed character.

Mustard shared a photo of himself in costume, chatting to Iron Man actor Robert Downey Jr. and Doctor Strange actor Benedict Cumberbatch. A second photo posted by Mustard's wife, Laura Mustard, shows them all hanging out with directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

Love these guys! Thanks @Russo_Brothers for inviting us in to experience the making of #avengers with you. And fun dinner dates too! pic.twitter.com/GYsM0FTMg5

In another tweet, Mustard says he thought about stealing his sling ring, but the film crew had security locked down. The Russo brothers are big fans of Fortnite; they've worn Fortnite t-shirts in various media appearances, and they even put a Fortnite scene in Endgame.

I was THIS close to stealing that Sling Ring but when ‘They’ came to take out the ponytail (which was a whole thing) there was a person making sure every piece of the costume was returned...

Endgame made a further $5.5 million in the US and Canada this weekend, and a few million more overseas, pushing its total lifetime haul to $2.76 billion. That's about $27 million shy of Avatar's overall all-time record; it's a record that Endgame may never beat.
