Saturday, 4:55pm, GMT+1: I arrived in Leipzig a couple of hours ago, after spending the past week in London working alongside the GameSpot UK team. We've been planning for Leipzig since well before E3, and now that I'm here I really can't wait for the Games Convention to get started. I really won't be too surprised if this thing ends up being bigger than E3 was - there'll be a lot more people and more companies, of course, and with so much uncertainty surrounding E3 I think a lot of companies deliberately held back some of their bigger games for Leipzig. Spore you already know about, but there'll be plenty more as well.
The rest of the GameSpot team will be arriving in Leipzig over the next couple of days. The Games Convention Developers Conference kicks off on Monday with some interesting keynotes and panels. Our media-only day on the show floor is Wednesday, and then from Thursday on the Leipzig Convention Centre will open its doors to a crowd that will almost certainly be bigger than that at any E3 - at least by the weekend.
