GameSpot News on Wednesday received new screenshots and information on Virtua Cop 2 for the Sega Dreamcast. The Dreamcast version of the game is actually not a port from the Model 2 arcade board. Instead, according to Jun Orihara of Sega's AM6 division, the game uses polygons up to five times that of the Sega Saturn version and three times that of the Model 2 arcade board.
We've also learned that there are only six people working on the Dreamcast Virtua Cop 2, which could mean that it is an enhanced port of the PC version.
Virtua Cop for the Sega Dreamcast is scheduled for a release March 2 for a price of 2800yen (about US$26) in Japan. Gamers will also able to purchase a set, which includes the Dreamcast Light Gun for a price of 5,800yen (about $54).
