Got Game Entertainment has today announced a North American publishing agreement for Time Guard, an adventure game currently in development at Zima Software.
In the game, players will assume the role of a private investigator called Pankrac whose services have been requested by a scientist named Santusov. Santusov has learned that the Russian Intelligence Service plans to change the world using his time-travel invention. Pankrac travels to the future and is horrified to find that Santusov is right and that the world is in the hands of an expanding Soviet Union, but when he tries to return to the present time, the time machine develops a malfunction, and he can't return.
As Pankrac, players will have to travel through various time periods encompassing prehistoric times, the future, and plenty of dates in between. Solving puzzles and interacting with characters will play a large part in the game, but very little else is known about the gameplay at this time. Time Guard is scheduled for release early next year. We'll bring you more information on the game as it becomes available.
