With Square's Einhander released just this past week, it seems that the era of the shooter is back.
That said, Irem, whose R-Type series is arguably one of the best in the genre, is back. They are releasing two new R-Type titles. One is R-Types, a collection of R-Type games on one PlayStation disc that should be hitting the Japanese market in February.
The other is R-Type Triangle, which looks to be similar to Philosoma or Einhander, and brings the series into 3D for the first time.
