TOKYO - Square announced that Final Fantasy VI will be ported to PlayStation. This game was originally released in April 1994 for the Super Famicon in Japan. Some Final Fantasy fanatics claim the game is better than Final Fantasy VII. Just like other 16-bit to 32-bit Final Fantasy ports, the game itself will be exactly the same. It will, however, have a brand-new CG movie at the beginning and the end of the game.
Final Fantasy VI is a prequel for Final Fantasy VII and was called Final Fantasy III in the States. Final Fantasy VI for the PlayStation is slated for release in Japan next March.
