Final Fantasy 15 Could Come to PC
Final Fantasy 15 Could Come to PC-October 2024
Oct 30, 2024 9:20 AM

Square Enix is "aware of the big call for a PC version" of Final Fantasy XV, but the game is not in development for any non-console platform at the moment.

Director Hajime Tabata made the comment in an interview with Engadget, saying, "Unfortunately we weren't able to do simultaneous development on a PC and console version for XV."

Tabata went on to say that Square Enix's goal was to "maximize" and "optimize" everything about Final Fantasy XV for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, leaving no time for a PC edition. However, once work on the console versions of the game is complete, it's possible Square Enix may bring Final Fantasy XV to PC.

"We will definitely take a good, hard look at PC and what we need to do, and consider all our options," Tabata explained. "But right now we aren't decided; we're still considering a lot of things."

GameSpot also recently spoke with Tabata, who told us 15 new things about Final Fantasy XV.

Final Fantasy XV's "Uncovered" event took place last night in Los Angeles. During the show, we learned the game's release date, got the first details on a movie starring Aaron Paul and Sean Bean, and saw a new trailer with a wicked cover of "Stand By Me" by Florence Welch of Florence and the Machine. Additionally, a new Final Fantasy XV demo is now available on PS4 and Xbox One.

For more on the event, you can check out all of the announcements in this roundup.
