Nintendo has just shadow-announced Everybody 1-2 Switch! and it's arriving later this month for the...Nintendo Switch.
Pre-orders for the Switch family game are up now ahead of the game's release on June 30. The title will release both digitally and physically and can be purchased for $29.99.
Just like Nintendo's launch title 1-2 Switch, "Everybody 1-2 Switch!" is a mix of games that players can play using the Switch Joy-Con controllers. The game can be played in either tabletop or TV mode. We've included the official description of the party title below:
Mix up your next get-together with the Everybody 1-2-Switch! game. Grab some Joy-Con controllers* or smart devices** for team-based games that are easy to set up and feature everything from balloons to aliens, and more! People at your next party can get moving and show off their teamwork in this multiplayer mashup.
A mix of games and modes to keep you on your toes!
Use Joy-Con controllers or smart devices, team up, and let the games begin. Split into teams and see which group can win a certain number of games first. Many games have several variations that change up the rules or add extra challenge!
As said, Everybody 1-2 Switch! launches globally for Nintendo's hybrid platform later this month on June 30. Here's what we wrote about 2017's 1-2 Switch in our launch review:
Though, credit where credit is due, 1-2-Switch does a great job of outlining the Nintendo Switch’s newest features. Guessing how many balls is in a box via HD Rumble alone is a fun experience that’ll try your patience. Rotating the JoyCon on its axis without wobbling it is a great test of how steady your hands are. Eating sandwiches with the IR camera is… Erm… Funny, I suppose?
That said, it’s worrying Nintendo don’t quite seem to know what they’re doing with their own hardware. HD Rumble and the various gyro and accelerometers have obvious uses in gaming these days, but even 1-2-Switch isn’t sure how to use the IR camera – a game, designed to highlight the uses of the console, failing to highlight the use of one of its own features? Absurd.
Other than that example, every minigame in 1-2-Switch does a great job of helping people enjoy themselves – together. Quick Draw has you fire at opponents as soon as you hear the call, but its variant has announcer shout words like “File! Fox! Fountain!” before calling the inevitable “Fire!” This wonderful system of fake outs really enhances the game by a massive degree, and is a fantastic ice breaker.
