SK Gaming (4-5) vs Copenhagen Wolves (3-6)
Although SK Gaming has had a bumpy road since requalifying into the LCS this split, they may be picking up some speed. The team broke their 3 game loss streak and looked solid in their last 2 victories over Alliance and ROCCAT. SK looks particularly strong in the bot lane, where Candypanda and nRated continue to dominate. Candypanda himself will look to improve on his 4.78 KDA and prove himself worthy of his Week 3 MVP.
The Wolves fell further behind the pack after a decisive defeat from the ‘Russian Overlords’, Gambit Gaming. Forg1ven and Unlimited struggled to keep up in the bot lane as Diamond continually pressured the lane with Evelynn. In the jungle, Amazing’s lacking impact with Wukong was felt throughout the laning phase. It’ll be an uphill battle for the botlane of Copenhagen Wolves versus SK.
Supa Hot Crew (3-6) vs Gambit Gaming (7-2)
Supa Hot Crew wasn’t able to overcome Millenium when Kerp and Creation went on a rampage. SHC’s bot lane imploded, sharing 15 deaths and 0 kills collectively. Mimer also fell victim to kev1n’s Warwick, with a total score of 0/4/3 on Dr.Mundo. Supa Hot Crew will need to leave their disastrous game versus Millenium behind, and come into their game versus Gambit with a clear head.
Combined with their upset victory over Fnatic and a 3 game win streak, Gambit is looking on top of their game. Gambit and Genja have show that they may be at the level of their former Moscow 5 glory in recent matches. In the mid lane, Alex Ich tried out Lulu with varied success, ending up with a KDA of 4/4/6. Gambit’s firing on all cylinders at the moment, tied for first place with Fnatic.
Fnatic (7-2) vs ROCCAT (6-3)
Fnatic’s 7 game win streak has come to an end after back to back losses to Gambit and Alliance. But, they are still holding on to the top spot in Europe. In both of the team’s losses, xPeke has struggled against Alex Ich and Froggen. In the top lane, sOAZ couldn’t find a way to make Leblanc work against Wickd’s trundle. It’s unknown if the past 2 matches are speedbumps on the road to victory, or the fall of one of Europe’s most prominent teams.
ROCCAT’s entry into the EU LCS has been explosive. A 6-3 record has place the team in 3rd. Overpow showed that he is deserving of his Week 2 MVP, racking up a score of 5/1/8 on Ziggs and an impressive 564 cs in the team’s game against Millenium. Xaxus showed up in teamfights with Renekton, ending the game with a score of 1/1/10. Winning this match would place them in a tie with Fnatic for second place.
Alliance (3-6) vs Millenium (3-6)
Defeating Fnatic was a step in the right direction for Alliance. The “European Superteam” has yet to put up a performance worthy of the nickname. Starting off the LCS with a 4 game loss streak wasn’t what fans expected considering their dominating performance at Battle of the Atlantic. Froggen went wild on Gragas in Alliance’s match versus Fnatic, closing out the game with a score of 7/2/8. In the bot lane, Tabzz and Nyph racked up a 11.0 KDA. Another victory would put Alliance right back in the mix.
In Millenium’s game versus Supa Hot Crew, their bot lane went bezerk. Collectively, Creaton and Jree had a 42.0 KDA with Lucian and Thresh. Kerp also made his mark on Leblanc with a score of 8/1/8. If Millenium takes down Alliance, it could be the momentum they need to get back into the top 4.
