Escape From Tarkov Server Issues, Long Queue Times Persist, But The Devs Are Working On It-November 2024
Nov 1, 2024 4:18 AM

Update: Battlestate Games COO Nikita Buyanov has taken to Reddit to explain more about what the team is doing to fix Escape From Tarkov's backend server issues. According to Buyanov, the team is aware of and monitoring "every issue with servers" around the clock--"login issues, disconnects, error 200, 1000, 500 etc."--and "actively working" on backend infrastructure.

"Stabilizing backend is the most prioritized task," says Buyanov. "Adding new game servers is also prioritized task." Battlestate Games has already doubled its server count since the beginning of the year to meet the influx of new players, which Buyanov notes is "rising fast."

Sudden spikes in player count comes with an increased risk of "critical malfunctions," Buyanov explains, and you can't solve everything with more servers.

In any case, Battlestate Games assures players it is "refining the system," and offered an apology: "We are deeply sorry about the issues and doing everything we can to make everything stable ASAP!"

We've installed a technical update of the client to improve the stability of the game. Everyone needs to download the update through the launcher #EscapefromTarkov

You may also have noticed Escape From Tarkov got an update on Wednesday morning, which you can install via the launcher.

  Original story follows...

If you've played Escape From Tarkov this past week, you've probably noticed particularly long queue times when waiting to load into a raid. These server issues have not gone unacknowledged by developer Battlestate Games. The team took to Twitter earlier this week to notify players of an update meant to reduce match loading times, but even after a series of technical updates and fixes, the frequent server outages persist.

Today, Battlestate Games posted yet again that they are working on fixing the server issues. For updates on Escape From Tarkov's server status, check back here for updates or consult Down Detector for moment-to-moment updates from the community.

Just a few weeks ago, Battlestate Games gave every player 1 million in-game roubles as an attempt to make up for lost time and gear resulting from server issues earlier in the month.
