Elsa Ships Pair of TNT2 Cards
Elsa Ships Pair of TNT2 Cards-March 2024
Mar 19, 2025 9:12 AM

Think you've seen enough TNT2 cards on store shelves to choke a whale? Video card manufacturer Elsa has two more boards to throw into the fray: the Erazor III and the Erazor III eXtreme, both of which began shipping to stores nationwide this morning. Unlike other TNT2 cards, these offer an interesting twist the competition doesn't - read on.

Both cards are powered by nVidia's TNT2 chipset. The Erazors ship with 32MB of SDRAM and a slew of 3D game demos including Descent 3, Motoracer 2, NBA Live 99, NHL 99, Need for Speed 3, Rogue Squadron, Tomb Raider 2 and Turok 2 – twenty demos in all. What makes these boards particularly interesting is that both come bundled with the 3D Revelator, a pair of stereoscopic shutter glasses developed by i-O Display Systems. Astute gamers will remember last year's eyeScream glasses from Wicked3D, which offered stereoscopic support for over 180 Direct3D, Glide and OpenGL games. The 3D Revelator works much in the same way as the old eyeScream did, giving most DirectX 6 games a 3D effect to them.

The 32MB Erazor III ships with a tethered version of these glasses for around US$229. Those of you with a little more to spend can step up to the Erazor III eXtreme which offers an infrared (cordless) version of the 3D Revelator as well as video-in and video-out ports. The eXtreme will set you back $289.
