Organizers for the Edinburgh Interactive Entertainment Festival 2006, a mostly industry-only event set for August 21-22 in Scotland, released today the festival's lineup of conference speakers. David Gardner, vice president and COO at Electronic Arts Worldwide Studios, will lead the festival's opening day with a keynote speech about the challenges of gaming's next generation. Other speeches over the two-day event include "Green Blood vs. Red Blood," about how game censors will treat increasingly realistic graphics; "Games That Make Me Cry," an Edge magazine editor's look at the art of games; and "Edinburgh Faces the Music," a discussion led by Video Games Live organizer Tommy Tallarico about the relationship forged between game players and game music.
