E3 2002: Jedi Outcast coming to GameCube, Xbox-November 2024
Nov 19, 2024 4:24 AM

LucasArts has just announced that its impressive PC first-person shooter, Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, is coming to the Nintendo GameCube and the Microsoft Xbox. Jedi Outcast is the third game in the Dark Forces series, which has proven to be extremely popular on the PC.

You'll assume the role of Kyle Katarn, a Jedi knight who is strong in the force and especially adept at wielding a lightsaber. The game takes place a few years after the events of Jedi Knight, and Katarn has given up his Jedi ways to settle into a life as a smuggler-for-hire. At the beginning of Jedi Outcast, however, a tragic event compels Katarn to seek out the Jedi Academy at Yavin to regain his force powers. As Katarn, you'll travel to a mix of familiar and brand-new Star Wars locales and do battle with stormtroopers and AT-ATs, as well as engage in saber duels with a horde of dark Jedi called the reborn.

The GameCube and Xbox versions of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast are being developed by Vicarious Visions and are scheduled to ship at the end of the year. We'll have more on these games from the show floor of E3, but in the meantime, be sure to take a look at our previous coverage of the PC version.
