Dying Light 2 kicks off its five-year plan of post-launch support today, June 14, with In The Footsteps of a Nightrunner, the first live event that reshapes the in-game economy and rewards track in a daily, weekly, and seasonal context. In this new story chapter, you can earn exclusive items and weapons while taking on new challenges meant to give Dying Light 2 players something new to do every day. Here's everything you need to know about the new Dying Light 2 seasonal event, including how to start it and how to finish it--plus all that sweaty running for your life in between.
Included in the new features are several new terms to get acquainted with, such as bounties, mission tickets, and reputation points. Bounties are your daily and weekly challenges. Unlike in some other games, you actually get to activate the tasks you want to focus on from a list of available bounties. You can activate up to three daily bounties and one weekly bounty at any time. You can also cancel them if you change your mind; just note that doing so will reset their progress, as well.

Mission tickets are awarded to you by Harper and allow you to partake in ultra-tough time trials that combine the game's pillars of combat, stealth, and parkour. To participate, however, you'll also need to improve your reputation. To that end, completed bounties give you reputation points, and each new tier also awards you with a Chapter Token, which can be spent in the exclusive Agent Shop, where unique items, both practical and cosmetic, await the game's most diehard players.
In this first chapter, the former Nightrunner has tasked you with hunting some of the game's special infected and new mutated monsters, such as Volatile Hives and Volatile Tyrants. Future chapters will be themed around other aspects of the Dying Light world, but for now, you're going to want to bring your flashlight, as In The Footsteps of a Nightrunner focuses on completing bounties at night when the game's fiercest foes come out.
