Acclaim Entertainment will publish a racing game based on the famous Ducati brand of motorcycles this winter for the Sega Dreamcast, the Sony PlayStation, and the PC platforms. Developed by Attention to Detail, makers of Rollcage for the PS and PC, the game will incorporate both a traditional arcade mode and a simulation mode. In the arcade mode, called Ducati quick race, players compete in progressively difficult, fast-paced races in order to earn better motorcycles. There are three different difficulty levels and eight initial courses available.

　　The simulation mode, called Ducati life, presents a more comprehensive motorcycle racing experience. Here players can earn cash and use it to customize their bikes or to buy new racers, as they progress through the game's many courses. A unique aspect of the Ducati life mode is the ability to compete against a friend, with the player's customized motorcycle on the line - win and you take home your competitor's bike, lose and you're left without a ride. Additionally, the game includes a showroom featuring realistic models of Ducati motorcycles from the 1950s to the present, including the Ducati Monster and the Ducati Superbike.

　　"Both Acclaim and ATD are in collaboration with Ducati to ensure that the gameplay and styling accurately project the revolutionary and desirable Ducati feel," said Evan Stein, brand director at Acclaim Entertainment. "Designed with the gamer in mind, the sophisticated game physics allow the player to get a feel of the different handling of Ducati's bikes, throughout the classic Italian motorcycle company's 50-year-old history."

　　Attention to Detail is also developing Sydney 2000 Olympics, an officially licensed track and field game, for Eidos Interactive.
