The latest issue of Japanese magazine Shonen Jump confirmed some new details regarding Dragon Ball FighterZ, the fighting game based on the popular series launching next year on PC and consoles.
According to the magazine, Dragon Ball FighterZ will sport a unique Story Mode which will not follow the manga and anime storyline. This Story Mode will involve a revived Android 16 and warriors getting defeated by an unknown force.
Additionally, Shonen Jump confirmed that Android 16 and Android 18 will be among the playable characters, both coming with some unique abilities. Super Saiyan Blue Goku and Super Saiyan Blue Vegeta will also be in.
Earlier this week, some new Dragon Ball FighterZ gameplay footage emerged online, showcasing some impressive combos performed by a variety of characters. With a new build being available during Gamescom next week, we should expect to see more footage very soon.
Next month, players in North America and Europe will be able to get a taste of Dragon Ball FighterZ thanks to the closed beta.
We are also working to bolster our background systems to ensure that the closed beta registration and selection process can accept the volume of anticipated sign-ups. However, these efforts will necessitate a slight delay for the closed beta sign-up date, which will move to August 22, 2017 with the official start of the DRAGON BALL FighterZ Closed Beta officially commencing from September 16 -18.
Dragon Ball Fighter Z launches on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One next year. We will keep you updated on the game as soon as more comes in on it, so stay tuned for all the latest news.
