The latest DLC for Bandai Namco's Dragon Ball FighterZ, Ultra Instinct Goku from Dragon Ball Super, is set to drop on May 22 for Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
This form of Goku, after coming into harmony with his body, fights on instinct alone. He uses a variety of dodges and counterattacks to mix up his opponents, while also making ample use of his instant transmission to gain the upperhand. It looks like UI Goku will be his most advanced form in DBFZ yet. Check out his launch trailer below.
Still, UI Goku serves as the game's seventh iteration of the legendary Z Warrior. Including the two fusions, Gogeta and Vegito, DBFZ now has just about every version of Goku that has been introduced in the anime and manga since its inception--with the exception of Super Saiyan 4 Goku, which is only seen in Kid Goku's level three super.
In total, there are now 16 DLC characters for DBFZ. UI Goku is part of the game's FighterZ Pass 3, which includes Kefla (Dragon Ball Super's female fusion between Caulifla and Kale) and three more unannounced fighters. The bundle retails for $20 on all platforms, while UI Goku can be purchased individually for $5.
Dragon Ball FighterZ was scheduled to appear at this year's Evolution Championship Series before the event's organizers canceled it due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. The annual fighting game tournament will instead shift to an online format this year.
