Doom Eternal on PC's Denuvo anti-cheat measure has now been removed in the latest patch for the game. Bethesda's latest update for the title, Patch 1.1, now allows Denuvo to be uninstalled without affecting your ability to play Doom Eternal as normal.

　　This particular update likely comes as a result of the complaints leveled against the anti-cheat software when it was implemented in Patch 1. id Software announced the update going live on Twitter and also mentioned other fixes relating to crashes. Console owners aren't affected by this patch.

　　The patch notes for Update 1.1 as taken from the official Bethesda website are as follows:

　　Use Windows add/remove programs to uninstall Denuvo Anti-CheatFixes for PC Only

　　Fixed several crashes associated with customizable skinsFixed memory-related crashes affecting some usersReverted a VRAM allocation change that caused some users to experience degraded performance with Update 1While Patch 1 was far more comprehensive and included a number of changes to players' Battlemode experience (not limited to balance changes), the removal of the Denuvo anti-cheat is something that the community has been asking for. The anti-cheat was previously using a kernel-mode driver, and the manufacturer noted in a post about the software on its official site that the software's "invisibility could raise some eyebrows".

　　If PC owners were previously put off from picking up Doom Eternal on their platform of choice because of the Denuvo anti-cheat, then this latest patch might set you right. Fans were leaving negative reviews of the game on Steam after the implementation of anti-cheat software, so Bethesda setting this right might well see a reduction in those types of comments for the time being.
